Story
Hello thank you for visiting my page.
I am one of 14 Team GB members who are travelling in March to the 3rd, World Championships for Ice Swimming in Murmansk, Russia in the Arctic Circle.
This page is to ask for financial help to assist the team to fund training, travel and expenses to participate with Team GB and in return I’ll try my best to bring back a medal for Great Britain.
I personally have already paid up to £1k on the visa, travel, accommodation, training in distant locations in the UK, some dietetics, physio, sports therapy, ice training and sports informed creatine, protein, electrolytes.
We are lucky enough to have received several products from sponsors that aid our training including Charlie Mc Cloed, Zoggs, Welleco, I received £125 from the Tenby Aces and a free session from Victoria Prendenville sports dietitian.
The race consists of a 1000m swim in water of 0c and below and in air of -7 and below wearing only trunks and a hat.
This sport is dominated by countries that benefit from icy temperatures as standard and as we in the UK aren't so lucky you can imagine the team members have to pull some ludicrous days out climbing to the peaks in Snowdonia, the Lake District and Scotland just to find the coldest spot.
The ice swimming event can be found at https://www.internationaliceswimming.com/ for your reference

traditionally Great Britain does not experience the same weather as the northern European and arctic countries. Team GB is made of 14 participants who travel to ludicrous places and up to the highest mountain lakes we can find to train in cold water.
