Story
On 21 November 2017 a little blue eyed bundle entered the world and stole the hearts of our family. Since then, George has brightened our days with his beaming smile and character.
As the weeks and months went on, we realised George was not meeting his milestones but we were reassured that he might catch up. During this time George had lots of tests for any medical reason why he was not developing as he should.
On 1 October 2018 a test for copper levels came back in the extreme low ranges and George was diagnosed with Menkes Disease, a rare and incurable genetic condition. Life expectancy is up to three years, although many children do not live beyond one year.
Our family is heart broken but we have created this page as we want to spend whatever time we have left with George making memories. He has brought sunshine to our lives, and we want to fill his days with as much fun and laughter as we can.
Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received and used to pay for trips and experiences for the family.
Thank you.

6 years agoUnfortunately we need to close the page now to get the money raised to pay for the Disney trip we have planned. Please know we are eternally grateful for your help and hope that many of you will get to see or hear about George’s wonderful smile as he enjoys the experiences that all of you have helped to create for him. Lots of hugs and thanks to you all, George and his parents.

6 years agoGeorge has been really well over the last few weeks. We have had lots of medical appointments and will continue to do so, however he has been able to enjoy the trips and fit lots of fun and smiles in thanks to everyone’s generosity. We have been fortunate to make contact with others in a similar position and have found that although we already knew we were exceptionally lucky to have a gorgeous smiley boy with this condition and at his age he really is amazing to be able to smile back at us.

We have trips and visits booked in over the near future which we are so excited for including another train ride for George which we know he will love, swimming and a visit to see some Disney characters.
