    Story

    Hi everyone,

I have made this page as my nana passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday 28th November 2018. Words genuinely cannot explain how much this has hurt my family, as fortunately none of us had ever experienced the loss of a loved one until now. I’m 22 myself, and I know that I’m not old really, but inside I still feel about 17, and I think I can‘t believe how fast the time goes, and it must be every single person that I know has lost a family member, and I thought “it must be so awful, I can‘t even imagine how it feels or how i’d get over it” and now it’s happening to me it just doesn’t feel real. I can‘t believe it.

I have an older brother who is 23, a younger sister who is 16 and a younger brother who is 7 and we all live with my mum. We are far from well off and struggle most months to get by. I feel awful seeing my mum sad and stressed and worried because she can’t pay for her mums funeral. My mum is a very private person who would never dream of posting one of these and she would be so upset with me if she knew I had made this, I just don’t know what else to do. For this reason I don‘t want to post too much personal information about the family (I’m really sorry if this sounds rude, I just wouldn’t ever want my mum to read this) but my nana has also left behind my grandad who is beyond devastated.

I work full time in a hair salon and come out most months with around £1,100 sometimes a little more. Stupidly I have not thought to start seriously saving before now as I’ve never urgently needed a large amount of money. I’ve told my mum I will be able to give around £500 and I feel so bad that I cannot give anymore. She has been looking for a loan but I’ve told her not to and I’d see if I could extend my overdraft with my bank.

We have chosen to have the very minimum at the funeral as my nana would not be happy with a big fuss! So that is comforting, but even with the minimum it is still £3,300.

Absolutely anything would be so so appreciated I can’t even explain how much if would help.

    Thank you for reading x
