Geraint 'G' Williams. The man behind the renowned ZT-T 500. The man known by so many for his input into the MG Rover world, car customisation and for being a general good laugh.

If you are reading this page, you will know that Geraint has sadly passed away, leaving his wife Lynne, dogs Alfie and Marmite as well as his many close friends. Geraint had been battling with a terminal heart failure diagnosis for some time and despite his prognosis, had managed to exceed his doctors expectations.

G was involved in so many 'circles' within the MG Rover world as this was his long lived passion as well as various IT ones too, due to his work and technical background. In recent years his fame came from his ambitious attempts to turn a bog standard 1.8 turbo MG ZT-T into an all-out 500bhp+ race car. The journey for this started over 5 years ago, but then took a pause due to both ill-health and periods of being out of work. Then as work picked up, so did the project, working on it piece by piece and slowly making progress... Until he was diagnosed with his heart condition. Even with this, Geraint didn't stop; the project gave him reason to keep going, to keep pushing himself and defying his odds. There had been more than the fair share of setbacks, most recent of which was an engine fire during a testing phase, but that wasn't the end. Things moved on and we managed to get the project back to its pre-fire state. Unfortunately this is where work halted, with so little left to do, the car, and its reputation are so close to the finish line but still have not made it to the dyno.

Aside from 'the cars', Geraint was an avid techy, always interested in the latest and greatest gadgets. I'm quite lucky really, as this is what brought Geraint and myself together as friends some 10+ years ago. He somehow managed to bring together a group of friends who, until meeting Geraint, didn't know eachother existed in the world. We all keep in touch today, via friendships which owe themselves to Geraint. There are far too many memories to write about here, but I think it's safe to say that we all have stories we can tell which include Geraint.

As hard of a time as this is anyway, things have been made that bit harder for Geraint's wife Lynne as it appears one thing he didn't do is make arrangements and provisions for when this time came. It's hard to type this and ask for friends to help at such a sad time, but I think we would all love to be able to offer our help to Lynne and to give Geraint the send off that we all want for him.

I'm making this page in the hope that we can rally together and share this, spread it around the various communities and be able to provide means to both spread the burden for Geraints funeral arrangements as well as ease the strain for Lynne.
