Story
My son is 15, he has high functioning autism, bilateral sensonueral hearing loss and chronic pain syndrome... my wife has numerous conditions, including hearing loss, FMS, SHM and functional neurological disorder, among other conditions. In the UK things are becoming desperate and we live in fear of not being able to support ourselves into the future.
I am carer to my wife and son but give up any time I can in a voluntary roll as the director of a charity that supports deaf people across our county (I do not get paid for this roll at all)... My wife, despite her disabilities, does not sit idle, she too works as secretary to the charity I am a director of enabling us to work together and for me to support and care for her... our son despite his disabilities has worked hard to get into a good school and is working hard towards his GCSE, he has dreams of working as a scientist in the future and doesn't let his disabilities hold him back, he also volunteers for a charity that has supported him through his young life.
This is an experiment and I am not expecting to be successful as £2 million sounds a lot of money, but it would pay enough to support my wife and son for the next 50years, my wife's life and well into my son's life. If we raise this, we will never have to (and will not) claim benefits or support from the government and tax payer ever again. I am interested to see if 400,000 people put £5 in then one family is free of benefits and government support for life... is this a new way?
