Weʼve raised £915 to To provide animal oxygen masks for Fire Services in and around New Malden.

Funded on Tuesday, 12th November 2019

    Story

In November 2018 I tragically lost both of my beloved dogs, Honey & Stanley, in a fire that started when I was out of the flat. The fire service were amazing, and did their very best to save the dogs. I wasn't aware that in the UK the Fire service do not carry animal oxygen masks as standard, so they use human masks, and much of the oxygen is lost out of the sides.

Then I found Smokey Paws and for £90 they are able to provide a kit with three sizes of mask, two muzzles and a slip lead to a fire station so that they are better equipped to save dogs, cats and other pets.

I have personally donated so that the wonderful fire fighters at New Malden station can have a kit, in memory of the Super Staffies, but I would love to be able to provide more kits to other local stations.

I don't want anyone else to go through what I have.

Combining on line and off line donations we've passed the £1000 mark!!!! To be exact, currently £1175. That is enough for 13 kits, meaning that 13 more fire stations can receive life saving pet Oxygen Masks. It is very personal to me and means the world that everyone has gotten behind the cause!!

Hi Everyone. Thank you all for your donations so far! It's amazing!! I've been at Scrambles Fun Agility Show today and have raised £87.30 there!! When added to the £90 I have already donated personally (so the fire fighters who tried to save Honey & Stanley can have a kit) & £40 in promised donations that means there is now enough for at least five kits!! It means the world to me and hopefully other pets will be saved as a result!!

My name is Helen, and devastatingly my two precious and much loved dogs passed away in a home fire in November '18. Despite the fire services best attempts (they went above and beyond), they did not have the most effective kit available to them. I want to change this.
