In May i will be travelling to Kenya to assist with projects throughout schools helping the lives of young people though schooling activities and building projects. I am doing this as a volunteer through an organisation 'African Adventures' in conjunction with Derby county and The Bemrose School. There is 11 of us going from The Bemrose school including 5 pupils who have Autism and learning difficulties.
We will be in Kenya for 2 weeks, where we will be attached to a school helping with teaching, sports activities, and will be involved in a building project to improve the school and hopefully the lives of the children. We will also be visting the homes of the children who attend the school to see how there life differs from ours.
I have been involved in fundraisers that the Bemrose school have done, however i will be trying to fundraise part of my own place and would appreciate any contributions for such a good cause.
I would like to thank my friends and family for all the help and support I have received so far, and to Motorpoint for allowing me to take 2 weeks off work unpaid to go to Africa, and allowing me to fundraise at work.
