On the 17th October 2017 a fire engulfed the home of Aled, Louise, Gethin (17) and Iwan (15) At Peniel Green Road, Llansamlet. By the grace of god they were not at home, but sadly lost their pet cat and gerbil.

By Tuesday afternoon all they had left were the clothes they stood up in, everything else had been destroyed. At present they are staying in two rooms in a travel lodge until the insurance find them temporary accommodation whilst their home is gutted and repaired. The fire service have determined the fire stared following a freak electrical fault that could not have been foreseen. They estimate 6-9 months before they can move back in.
