    Story

In memory of Jamie Leonardi 💙
My beautiful baby was taken too soon at the age of 17 years old. He was my absolute world. Even at the tender age of 17 he had made his wishes known about organ donation to us, his family.
He was 100% sure this is something he wanted.
Jamie sadly passed away 20th February 2018, surrounded by his friends and family and the amazing staff who work within Pinderfields Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
I've found great peace and comfort in Jamie's last selfless act of giving others a chance by donating his organs.
Our organ donation coordinator arranged for us to go to Martin House Children's Hospice so we could grieve in a calming setting. Jamie was close by - in his own room, listening to his music surrounded by his favourite things.
The compassion and care Jamie received from everyone has touched us deeply - so we would like to "pay it forward" in Jamie's memory.
We are fundraising to help other families at ICU and Martin House.
We are asking for donations to allow us to purchase as many items as we can for both places.
If the target is reached we would like to purchase:
•Comfort Packs: with essential toiletries;toothbrush/toothpaste/comb/soap/shampoo/deodorant etc for families who are away from home, at their loved ones side. We want to provide these for at least 12months +. •Electrical items like a T.V for the family room, Portable DVD player for visitors to use. Headphones/Bluetooth speakers so music can be played to patients and relatives.
•We want to provide memory boxes for families, so precious items can be kept; locks of hair, teddy, finger print keyrings, candle holders etc.
If we are blessed to reach the target any thing over this will be split between ICU & Martin House and towards our 'Comfort packs'.
Jamie was loved by so many. All donations raised in his memory will go towards 'paying it forward' to help other people.
    Thank you
    Jamie's Family x
(Memory boxes & Comfort Packs & other pictures are included in our updates)

To all who have donated to Jamie's Just giving page; here are the wish list items we have taken to Martin's House Children's Hospice. These gifts were bought with your amazing donations. Martin's House Children's Hospice looked after Jamie and us, and they continue to do so. Their support has been much needed, and we are so very grateful. As well as the gift donations we have also delivered some of the Jamies Wish Comfort Packs, and will continue to do so. We couldn't have done any of this without your support, so once again "Thank You" 💙💙

https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2074496992580906&id=447335581963730 We have met with the internal communication team at Pinderfields Hospital. They have shared our story and taken pictures of us delivering some of the donations. We delivered our first lot of Comfort Packs and Memory Boxes. They have done a FB post to share our story about 'paying it forward'. So I wanted to share this with everyone who has donated.

So we visited Pinderfields Intensive Care Unit with some donations/gifts we had purchased. We have a photo to share with you: with our ICU nurses, organ donation SNODs and Jamie organ donation surgeon along with ICU ward manager. And of course with us as Jamies family. Photo includes our "comfort packs" & "memory boxes" for those who lose someone. Each memory box has been filled with items: teddy, hair locks items, hand print paper & wipes, forget me not candle holders and forget me not seed packs. Only possible with all of your donations!!!

I'm proud to be Jamie Leonardi mum. I wanted to create a Just giving page in Jamie's memory. Jamie was such a kind, compassionate person. He would be happy to know we are wanting to help other people in honour of him, in his memory. 💙💙💙
