Story
The Angels of Freedom has recently been shortlisted in the National Diversity Awards in the LGBT+ Community Organisation category, which we’re all really thrilled about. The awards night is hosted in Liverpool on the 20th September, and we have 10 volunteers all hoping to attend.
Unfortunately the cost of attendance is high to cover the event tickets, then we have travel & accommodation costs on top of this.
We’re currently looking at various options at how we can cover some of the expense in order to make the event more accessible for our team, many of which are young people who would greatly benefit from attending in recognition of their achievements but are currently unable to cover such high costs.
Attending the event feels like a once in a lifetime opportunity, and is really important for our volunteers to be able to participate. We get to celebrate our success with the ongoing development of our grassroots community support group, and being shortlisted to within the top 8 LGBT+ community groups.
You can view the full short shortlisting on the National Diversity Awards website.
Every single pound donated will help support our team of volunteers being able to attend this prestigious ceremony, so please help with as much as you can afford no matter how small an amount it may be.

5 years agoIn addition to donations made online through JustGiving we’ve also had amazing offline support with direct donations & fundraising, so we have around £700 to add to this total - so we’re not too far away from achieving our target to support 10 of our volunteers to attend these awards. Thank you so much to everyone who’s helped us so far, this event & recognition is huge for an unfunded community based group like ours ❤️
