    Story

On the 16th April 2016 Rachel fell down the stairs at her home in bedlington, Northumberland .Rachel was taken to the Rvi hospital in Newcastle where she remained in I.t.u for 2 weeks. Rachel was sedated for 4 days after the fall due to injuries sustained in the fall, Rachel has been left paralysed from the neck down, suffered a broken nose, broke her jaw in 3 places and lost teeth from both the upper and lower jaw. Two weeks after the accident Rachel was transferred to James cook hospital in Middlesbrough, a hospital that specialises in trauma injuries like those Rachel suffered, but also a hospital 60miles away from her family. Rachel's husband Darren, and children Chloe, jake and joe have travelled the 120 mile round trip everyday to visit aswell as holding down jobs, school and daily life , they deserve medals!!!
After everything Rachel has gone through she still remains a very brave positive lady who was looking forward to returning home to her family, rachel was giving a discharge from hospital date for August 9th, unfortunately this is not going to happen as Rachel has nowhere suitable for her needs to go and to add to more set backs Rachel and Darren have now been told their application for a grant to fund the extension they need has now been refused due to both Rachel and Darren's income for this last year been taking into consideration, however now there is only 1 income , they will appeal against this decision but let's see if we can take some pressure off and help raise the funding they need so the children can have their Mam back at home and Darren can have his wife home.

Thank you all in advance for any donations we will keep u updated with Rachel's progress xxxx
