    Story

Please support me to join a training course on the application of permaculture design to crisis zones such as refugee camps and disaster areas.
I work as a permaculture designer and teacher, and after spending some time building gardens in the Calais refugee camp I have seen first hand how using permaculture design could help provide urgent and sustainable solutions and empower those desperately in need.

The course I would like to join is being taught by Rosemary Morrow, who has worked extensively in this field for many years and is usually out of reach for UK permaculturists as she is based in Australia. I am currently travelling in New Zealand and so, with some support, have an opportunity to bring her experience and wisdom back to the UK.

I have Rosemary's blessing to share what I learn from her with people back home, and plan to do so through publishing an article in a UK Permaculture magazine about the training, followed by running a 3 day workshop (to be held in Lincolnshire from the 13th-15th October) to cover the content in more depth. Course content will include: engaging with unfamiliar cultures, building trust, and social, economic and political considerations such as resolving conflict. We will also cover project funding and grant advice.

Any donation is incredibly appreciated, but 100 pounds or more will book you a place on the workshop. Please leave an email address with your donation if we don't already know each other, as if I am unable to raise the money I would like a way to return it to you.

With more and more people living in refugee camps and disaster areas every day, working towards sustainable and empowering solutions is just so vital.. please lets work together to spread the education on how to make this happen.

    With immense appreciation..
    Niamhue
