The Oxford City Stars ice hockey club is preparing to launch a full Community Programme next season to inspire thousands of youngsters across Oxfordshire.

It follows the success of its growing community engagement this season with schools, junior football teams, cub and scout groups and businesses. Players and the mascot, Comet, have volunteered to deliver inspirational assemblies to children at various schools.

The club would like to take this to the next level and visit schools on a consistent basis and deliver detailed programmes promoting sport participation, well-being and healthy eating.

Headington School has donated a minibus for the Stars to use to carry out work in the community, but the club needs your help to meet the objective of implementing its community programme on a weekly basis. It will cost the club £15,000 to run the minibus and employ a permanent community coordinator for the year.

Providing meaningful sessions at schools makes a real difference to youngsters and as a club we are committed to helping the community we are a part of. You can help us help others – every donation will make a difference.
