Story
As many of you know 20 year old Sam went fishing with friends last weekend and had a terrible accident resulting in multiple internal injuries, a broken back and severed spinal cord. Sam nearly lost his life but was saved by the amazing paramedics and A&E staff at the N&N Hospital. The injury to his back is so severe that it has left Sam paralysed from the waist down and he has been told that he will probably never walk again.
Sam had to have an 11 hour long operation on Monday to pin his spine back in place at the N&N. He is recovering well from his op and will be moved to a specialist spinal unit in Sheffield this weekend to rehabilitate for several months. Sam will need further surgery in the future and has a long journey ahead of him.
I have set up this crowdfunding page with the full support of Sam's parents, Sharon & Dave, to help provide essential specialist equipment and home alterations to aid Sam with his rehabilitation. Any donations will be used solely to provide Sam with whatever he needs to help with his recovery and make his return home as quick and easy as possible.
Sharon, Dave & Kirsty have been truly overwhelmed with the offers of help and support, cards, gifts and messages from friends and family and would like to say a huge thank you to everybody for their well wishes.
