Story

This evening at bedtime (16/04/20) my 5-year old daughter Zoe and I were discussing Captain Tom Moore’s amazing fundraising efforts for the NHS. Zoe then told me she wanted to raise money to get rid of coronavirus and help Hinchingbrooke Hospital (where she was born) to make sure the babies and children there are ok. We talked about what she would like to do and what children at the hospital might like. She wondered how they get stories if they can’t have lots of visitors and I suggested we could record her reading some of her favourite books. These might then get shown to children in hospital and/or maybe her friends who she hasn’t seen for a few weeks would enjoy them too. Her aim is to read 25 stories or poems by herself and she asked if she could raise £25. Just the fact that she is thinking of helping others at this unsettling time has made me so proud.

We’ll be sharing her efforts on her ‘Zoe’s Storytime’ Facebook page if you have children who would like to listen to a story or two. https://www.facebook.com/groups/651582745403329/?ref=share

Any funds raised will be donated to the hospital either directly or through associated charities.
