Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie Wilson and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am a qualified dental nurse currently working at Bupa Dental Care in Burnley and have been qualified for 4 years. I have trained hard to become a dental nurse however the journey for me hasn't been the easiest for me as I have dyslexia and I found the studying for the course very hard. I am a very hands on practical person and I have worked very hard and studied in order to gain my qualification and I have now been dental nursing for 4 years.

I recently applied for a place on the next trip in Feb 2018 with Bridge2Aid/Bupa and got accepted. I will be travelling out their in Feb 2018 to join a group of dentists and nurses. My hope is to offer my extensive dental nursing skills and knowledge, to aid the communities within Tanzania to provide them with the knowledge of improving their oral health and hygiene. This is a once in a life time opportunity for me. In order for me to attend alongside Bridge2Aid I need to raise £1500 to help fund me travelling over there as well as assisting Bridge2aid. All the money I receive will go to Bridge2aid to aid funding my trip.

Background history about Bridge2aid: Since 2004 Bridge2Aid has provided training which has given access to safe emergency dental care for over 4 million people in Tanzania. They have done this through sending volunteers from the UK dental community to train rural health workers. They are saving lives and freeing millions more from the prospect of misery and pain, by providing them with the skills, equipment and resources that they will need to provide emergency dental care in a world where over 70% of the population currently do not have access to even basic dental treatment. The ultimate goal of Bridge2Aid is to enable training in emergency dental care for health workers in all remote rural communities of developing countries. Their vision is a world free from dental pain.
