Sussex Young Farmers take on Snowdon…

16 members from Sussex Young Farmers will be travelling 280 miles to Wales to climb Snowdon. Like most charities we had a big fundraising year planned, then Covid-19 caused all events to be cancelled. But this was not going to stop us, we have decided to move everything to next year and go bigger and better than before, including our Snowdon Trip! The date is still to be confirmed however it will more than likely be a similar date to (early July) but in 2021!

Why are we climbing Snowdon?

Every year our Charity completes fundraisers and this year we wanted to try something a little different than the usual agricultural show or quiz night! To keep our charity running we rely on our brilliant members to help us fundraise which allows us to sustain Sussex YFC. Young Farmers allows members to socialise, learn new skills, compete in competitions, and explore our local agricultural & rural area.

Why Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance?

Our members love getting stuck in and raising money for local charities, over the years we have raised thousands for charity, and we like to keep it close to home. So, we have decided to pick KSSAA as our charity to support for this trip. The money will be split evenly between KSSAA and Sussex YFC. As well as being a lifesaving and crucial charity, KSSAA are so important to the agricultural community. Whilst agricultural accidents are on the decrease, accidents still happen. When things go wrong in agriculture, they can go wrong very quick and urgent medical help is required. For many rural accidents, the best option for the emergency services is to send the Air Ambulance. The countryside can be hard reach and would take too long for ambulances. The Air Ambulance is so important to us, without them, many critical and near fatal accidents could have a hugely different outcome if it were not for the rapid response and experienced medical care that KSSAA can provide.
