Story
Until last summer, Dawn Taylor had worked at the Theatre Royal for nearly 25 years, rising from Box Office Assistant to become the Director of Operations. She was the life and soul of the theatre, enthusing everyone with her passion and commitment, entertaining everyone with her infectious humour, and loved by everyone for her generous spirit.
Last August, completely without warning, she suffered a huge stroke, and was in hospital for the eight months – she is completely paralysed down the left side of her body and unable to look after herself. She is not able to return to work and has recently come home from hospital, and now her husband and children need to carry out many and expensive adaptations to their house.
Dawn spent 25 years helping others at this theatre – we ask that you now help her. Please give generously to help Dawn’s family make their house fit for her to live in.
The team at Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust & DATBar including Aldo, & Joe De Giorgi, Joel Darby, Philip Bernays, Andy Wright and Jo Kirby are coming together on Sunday 20 August to cycle 100 miles together somewhere in beautiful Northumberland (with some cake and refreshment stops along the way). If you would like to join us, you'd be very welcome.

7 years agoHello everyone We'd just like to say a massive thank you to all of our generous supporters for our bike ride for Dawn. You donations kept us going throughout the ride - it turned out to be a lovely day weather wise, and we finished it in 7hrs 30 mins with two food stops along the way. It was a challenging but not mountainous route, the food was great (thank you Polly) as were the pizza’s at the finish (thank you Dat Bar). And we raised over £6,500!! Thank you.
