Story
Walking To Save Dogs in a Not For Profit Organisation raising funds and awareness to fight the Dog Meat Trade in South East Asia.
Dogs are people's best friends. I have seen dogs being tortured and killed for meat. The terrible things I have seen have compelled me to help end this inhumane trade.
I have 7 dogs and each year my little ones and we do a fundraising walk together. We have walked various UK trails including Hadrian's Wall and the West Highland Way and donated all monies raised to organisation that care for dogs and fight the dog meat trade in South East Asia.
I love South East Asia and I have visited China, Thailand, Indonesia, Laos and Cambodia. But I am always horrified by the terrible treatment and fate dogs face there.
The dog meat trade is widespread throughout South East Asia. As well as the aforementioned countries, dogs are eaten in the Philippines, Vietnam, North Korea, Myanmar and Northern India.
The cruelty these dogs go through defies all imagination Dogs are skinned, boiled, barbecued, cut to pieces and blow-torched alive. Others are bludgeoned to death.
People in South East Asia eat dog not because they live in such poverty that there is no other available food, but it is what they call culture and tradition. However, I believe that any culture can change to become more humane.
My walk, which will take about 2.5 months to complete and will hopefully raise badly needed funds to fight the dog meat trade. Join me on my walk with or without your dog to show your support and donate in person or give now through this page.
I will be wearing a GPS tracker device so you can pinpoint exactly where I am by visiting any one of my social media sites. This is also where I will be posting daily video updates. Please monitor my progress and join me along the route!
