My story

A solo bike ride from Lands End to John O’Groats, unsupported, covering nearly 1,000 miles in 10 days in October 2007.

I have wanted to do this ride for many years now, but after my back surgery thought it would never happen.  Then I found the Cruzbike recumbent bike and now the ride is on again!

Although this will be a personal achievement it seems a pity not to use the opportunity to raise a bit of sponsorship money.  Having recently become a single dad , the ride will be a reflection of my experience of single parenthood so far.  Long, hard and lonely at times; but definitely rewarding; so what better charity than Gingerbread.

Day 1   Lands End to Okehampton  130 miles

Day 2   Okehampton to Cheddar       87 miles

Day 3   Cheddar to Welsh Bicknor    75 miles

Day 4   Welsh Bicknor to Chester   110 miles

Day 5   Chester to Slaidburn            80 miles

Day 6   Slaidburn to Carlisle            75 miles

Day 7 Carlisleto Loch Lomond        127 miles

Day 8   Loch Lomond to Loch Ness 120 miles

Day 9   Loch Ness to Tongue          106 miles

Day 10 Tongue to John O'Groats      66 miles

It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Gingerbread will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.

P.S Thanks everone at Cruzbike for making this dream a reality.  Now all I have to do is get fit in time!
