Charlie Sumption, our friend in Abbey House had his life tragically cut short at the age of 14 after spending two terms at Sherborne School. Established in his memory by his brothers, Ed and Alex, in the summer of 2007, The Charlie Sumption Memorial Fund aims to improve the lives of Kenyans by enhancing their education. They plan to achieve this goal by improving the facilities at Mutunyi Primary School and by funding scholarships which will allow pupils at Mutunyi to attend Secondary Schools and possibly univeristies too.
The CSMF is administered by the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, a UK registered charity who operate in Northern Kenya and support the local community. They select and monitor the progress of the CSMF scholars and send reports back three times a year to the charity.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
