The MicroLoan Foundation (MLF) provides small loans of between £15- £50 to help people in the world's poorest countries to become self -sufficient. The profits go to feed, clothe and educate extended family units of typically 8-10 dependents, several of whom are likely to be orphaned by aids. 97% of the loans are repaid in full.

My story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We are planning to cycle (that is bicycle) across the USA, coast to coast from Portland, OR to Boston, MA . We are aiming to ride an average of 60 miles a day for ten weeks to complete the 3,600 mile journey. This is a fully loaded, self contained unsupported trip. This means that we will be carrying everything we need including camping equipment and water.

After searching for a suitable charity to ride for, we discovered the Microloan Foundation. Microloan makes small loans to enable people in Malawi to set up their own small business. 97% of the loans made are repaid in full, so your money will be put to work over and over again. We are covering all the costs ourselves, so all the money raised will go straight to the charity.
