Our journey began in May when I was presented with a bike for my birthday, having telephoned  a few friends to cycle with I found 3 willing partners  Eve, Valsie & Paul.

On our second outing I noticed I had a puncture, being a complete novice I had no idea how to fix it!!!!   I didn't even own a pump!!! Then from out of the blue a cycle club  appeared stopped and helped a damsel in distress!!,  There and then they fixed my puncture and whilst all this was going on I made a new found friend "Jenny" who belonged to the CTC cycling club.

Every year Jenny fund raises for LEPRA , HIV  & TB with an organised cycle trip to India, the bike ride is 343 miles over 2 weeks, staying in missions and small villages away from normal home comforts.  The accommodation is very basic, (not to mention the sanitation!!!) many of the roads and tracks we will cycle on are rough and 45 km of the ride will be climbing hair pin bends.

For Val, Paul and myself this  will be eye opening and a very emotionally charged adventure, the ride itself will indeed be challenging on a fitness level....not to mention the heat!!

We pay for all our flights and accommodation ourselfs so all the money raised goes to Lepra.
