Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our fund raising page.
We are doing a bike ride from Prudhoe to Bamburgh (approx. 50 - 60 miles) to raise money for the MS Research and Relief Fund. They are a registered charity which helps provide information and support for all who are affected by MS.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a disease where the body's immune system attacks a person's Central Nervous System (CNS). This can affect the person's mobility, independence, confidence and change their lives as well as the lives of those around them. Symptoms include mobility problems, spasticity, pain, impaired vision, incontinence, impaired sexual function, slurred speech, fatigue or cognitive dysfunction (memory and reasoning difficulties). It is estimated that 80,000 people are living with MS in the UK. Most will not experience all of the symptoms listed above and the severity and amount of symptoms each person with MS experiences varys completely within each person.
There is still no cure for MS although there are drugs and treatments which can help with some of the symptoms.
