My story
Pedal Power in Cardiff is possibly the best accessible cycling centre in the UK. It is certainly the best in Wales. We provide a service to make cycling accessible to people with a wide range of impairments. To do this we have a wide range of range of cycles: from conventional trikes to four-wheelers that can carry a wheelchair.
These cycles are expensive and we are trying to raise £6000 for two new ones. We have an offer of matched funding from a well-known charity so we urgently need to raise £3000.
I'm a keen cyclist and regularly volunteer at the centre. I also maintain the website.I've previously completed two 250 mile sponsored rides for another charity and raised about £2500. I've come up with a silly idea for raising funds for Pedal Power.
For every £1 that you donate I will ride a mile. This is actually a tougher target than an organised sponsored ride, I averaged about £5 per mile on those. I will include all my normal cycling and reserve the right to include miles done my cycle trainer as the whether gets worse!
So please donate and tell me to get on my bike!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
