Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself Meg's and Sarah would like to raise money and awareness for The National Council for Palliative Care by competing in the Bideford 2014 Triathlon.

In June 2013 our whole world fell apart when, as a family we were given the devastating news that our Dad had Stage 4 Lung Cancer, just 5 weeks later Dad lost his incredibly short and tough battle and was taken away from us at the young age of 52. Our Dad was the most incredible, inspiring man who always made us feel safe and secure; he filled our lives with love happiness and laughter, a larger than life character and certainly lived life to the full.

It was the palliative Care team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital who looked after and more importantly made Dad feel safe. They were so kind and were a true comfort to him making sure every step of the way he was in no pain and felt comfortable. As a family we were touched by how the palliative care team helped us through this tough time. Going through this was the hardest time of our lives and getting through one day to the next was made a little easier by having such caring and supportive nurses alongside us.

We feel that the efforts of the palliative care should be recognised more now than ever therefore have chosen this amazing charity.

I hope Dad has a huge dimply smile on his face, watching us three train and we just know he will be cheering us along on the day.

So if you can spare a few pounds to help raise some money for what we feel to be a great cause it would be massively appreciated.

Lots of Love Claire Meg's & Sarah xxxxx .
