Story
“Don’t Stop Me Now!” is showing at HM Theatre Aberdeen from 26th to 28th March 2009.
Presented by Danscentre – some of Aberdeen’s most talented young dancers will perform an eclectic mix of Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Tap. The audience will be enchanted by sleeping beauty, inspired by 19th century ballet, toe tapping to numbers from Mamma Mia and Hairspray and blown away by the energy and enthusiasm of this unstoppable roller coaster of dance.
However for one night only (Saturday evening show) some of the Dads of the dance school pupils will be performing a dance routine, to music from Saturday Night Fever, which will make the audience realise that the term "you dance like your dad" is not a compliment. These brave (I would say foolish!) Dads will perform in front of a capacity crowd of circa 1500 paying customers to raise money for charities. (No refunds will be given).
As I have volunteered to be one of the “Dancing Dads” I'd be grateful if you could sponsor me (heavily) so that my ritual humiliation will at least have been for a good cause. Your donation will go to a very worthwhile charity in the “Aberdeen Foyer”.
Aberdeen Foyer is a local charitable organisation working to prevent and alleviate youth homelessness and unemployment.
Your support is appreciated.
