Story
Hi, my name is Connor Daly, my dad is an IT Teacher and he believes he can help me and other children whose treatment for their cancer involves prolonged time in Isolation. This is a time (which can be weeks or months) when only mums & dads can visit to help reduce the risk of the isolated patient getting an infection. He wants to put in place a 2-way video chat computer system for Isolation patients and their parents to use to communicate with the outside world (Skype).
With your help we hoped to raise the £5,000 needed to equip and maintain a 21st Century solution to such a simple dilemma. Through your generosity the 5K was soon reached. It was then time to review our choice of equipment, to put in place the solution to Isolation. We soon discovered that the equipment needed to make this happen, had to be what’s called medically compliant (similar to the type of electronic systems found in operating theatres, for example). This increased our fundraising target threefold, which was essential since this specification does not come cheap.
Our revised target is £20,000
