I am taking part in the Mazda London Triathlon on August 1st 2009. Along with my fellow team members, Mark Thompson (who is doing the running), and Stuart Gould (who is doing the cycling), we are hoping to raise quite a bit of money for Afasic. So far, we have raised just over £700 and with this page being formed, we hope to raise more.
Well, we did it ! The team finished in a total time of 2 hours and 55 minutes, coming 277 out of 406 teams, so not a bad effort for our first time! Still not too late to sponsor us!
Mark Thompson: 40 minutes, 42 seconds
Stuart Gould: 1 hour, 22 minutes and 36 seconds
Damian Quinn: 44 minutes and 15 seconds
Afasic is the UK charity that helps children and young people affected by the hidden disability of speech and language impairments, working for their inclusion in society and supporting their parents and carers. Across the UK there are over 1 million children and young people who are affected by the disability which is a hidden, but very real, disability.
Afasic provides help, information and support for these children, young people and their families. They provide a telephone helpline, a range of publications, organize training workshops, run activities and events for the children and young people and have a network of local parent support groups across the UK. This is their 40th Anniversary year and your support would be greatly appreciated.
The video on the left is talking about the triathlon.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Afasic gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
