For millions of people around the world the ground is a dangerous place to be. The Dangerous Ground film and fundraising project aims to help make the ground a safer place for people living in fear of landmines. Below are details of one fo the projects we are funding through this campaign. Just £1 clears 1m² of minefield.

Lboek Svay, Banteay Meanchey Provice, is an example of a village that has come into existence following the end of the war. Those who had been displaced and lost their homes during Pol Pot’s regime of the late 1970s and the fighting that continued on into the 1990s desperately needed somewhere to live and try and make a living. New communities began to spring up along the Thai border where there were large areas of unclaimed land. Lboek Svay is now a village of 629 people but during the war it was a strategic battlefield. In order to cut off the transportation of food and weapons, thousands of mines were laid by both Khmer Rouge and Government forces and the area is now littered with landmines and unexploded weapons.

Villagers have already been killed and injured. By donating here you will be helping to clear the 50,000m² minefield as well as helping other communities around the world whose lives are devastated by this indiscriminate legacy of war.
