My story

Dear friends,

In the spirit of a new year, new initiatives and new resolutions, I have registered to compete in the April 22nd London Marathon. I will be running on behalf of the local Greenhouse charity. With this email, I ask you to join me in support of this great cause.
Greenhouse is an organization that empowers children and teenagers in London's most disadvantaged communities. Through the provision of intensive sport and drama programs at the hands of committed and inspirational coaches, Greenhouse provides a constructive outlet for youthful energy, and a setting for the development of valuable life skills. As well as sporting instruction, the highly accomplished coaches act as mentors and role models for the young people, who often stem from unsettled backgrounds with little in the way of positive guidance. I feel strongly about the benefit that sports and good coaching have had on my own development, and so it gives me great satisfaction to channel my fundraising energy to a local cause that brings the same opportunities to other young people in their formative years.

To learn more about Greenhouse, and to see the enormous effect that the organization has had on the people that it works with, please visit their website, and watch the clips on their youtube channel. You can also read more about Greenhouse in The Times, as one of the charities that was targeted for the annual Times Christmas Appeal.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful support.
Wishing you all the best for 2012,

Dan
