Week t-11: more running on treadmill and road, more cycling and swimming and some funky classes in the local club :o) Week t-12: 40km on the treadmill over 3 days - I know now that I have to increase my training - once my aching muscles subside (will they ever??). ========================================= Hello, On 5th October this year, I will join 45000 runners completing the Great North Run in Newcastle, England. According to Wikipedia, "the BUPA Great North Run is the world's most popular half marathon road running event". For me, it is: a) the first organised run I take part in b) a good reason to give up smoking c) the perfect opportunity to get fit (yes, I know it's overdue; if I make it past the finish line) I will complete this run for the Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity http://www.gosh.org/ and you can sponsor me right here! Please give generously - after all: a) kids are our future b) I - of all people - will attempt to run 13.1 miles (that's just over 21 kilometres! Now think back - when have you seen me run the last time?) c) it might be the last run I'll ever do (use the chance to see some great enthusiasm paired with very little talent)! Keep checking back if you want to see if I get on with training. Take care and enjoy, Daniela =============================== Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
