14/9/09 UPDATE - I did it! 274 miles, over 12,000 calories burnt, 10,000 feet climbed...I arrived in Paris at 3pm on Saturday....tired, emotional and ecstatic.

As most of you will know my Dad died from Pancreatic Cancer 15 years ago this summer, aged just 47.
Having been a bit of a fat knacker for a number of years this is the year I have decided to try and get fit(ter) and have now lost nearly two stone. I have felt for a while that I wanted to do something to remember my Dad by and also to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK. Pancreatic Cancer has the lowest survival rate of any cancer, and by doing my bit hopefully I can aid the fight to stop others having to go through what me and my brother went through 15 years ago.
I am cycling 300 miles from London to Paris on September 9th-13th 2009 and have recently started a Blog in late June to map out my progress.
I have got a considerable target to raise but then I know quite a few people so I am hoping that you will find a little time to have a read of my page and to sponsor me as much or as little as you can afford. It would mean so much to me.

Have comfortably reached the first target of £1,250 so am now aiming to get to £2,000 with the aid of some local adverts and appealing to people outside my own network.
