The Anthony Nolan Trust is the UK's most successful bone marrow register, providing lifesaving donors for patients in need of a bone marrow transplant. I joined the register in 2002. In 2005 the Trust contacted me to tell me that I was a potential bone marrow match for a young boy with leukaemia. After further tests I was confirmed as a match and in April 2005 I was operated on. Just six months ago I received information that the operation had been successful and the young boy was recovering well. This has been the most rewarding experience of my life and something that was only made possible thanks to the work that the Anthony Nolan Trust does. In the last year I have set about raising money for the charity. In October I raised £750 for the Trust when I took part in the Great South Run. However, I now aim to increase my fundraising efforts by running the London Marathon in April. I have been in training for six months now with the intention of running the fastest time I can manage. Please sponsor me and contribute to the great work that this charity does. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Anthony Nolan Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you would rather pay me in person, let me know and I'll come to you. If you'd like to find out more about the Anthony Nolan Trust and how to become a potential donor, go to www.anthonynolan.org.uk.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my page and for your support. Dan.
