Story
As humans we have this strange obsession of giving money to watch friends go through pain.
I couldn't miss the opportunity of cycling 1,000 miles over 11 days without taking advantage of the above and raising money for my friends in Nicaragua.
I work for an organisation called Compassion UK. Our goal is to release children from poverty in Jesus' name. We do this through Church based projects for the poorest of the poor in a particular country. A child who attends the project has access to education, nutrition, medical assistance, spiritual support and much more.
Rachel and I are friends with an 8 year old girl called Katherine and a 5 year old boy called Andru who live in Nicaragua and, through our monthly support, are able to attend a Compassion project in the capital city of Managua.
We write letters to each other, pray for each other and send photographs and colouring-in sheets.
With your help and giving I've agreed to raise £2,338 for the Compassion project to enable them to finish building classrooms where they will teach Music, Dance and English lessons.
What an amazing opportunity we have to give sacrificially to see the lives of hundreds of children transformed and released from poverty through these classrooms.
In June I have the privilege of travelling to Nicaragua with work to meet my friends Katherine and Andru. I will be visiting the Compassion project that gives Katherine, Andru and many more children a hope of a brighter future.
I'll bring back photographs and video so you can see exactly where your money is going.
Thank you.
