Dear all,
I just wanted to thank everyone for their generosity and adding to my motivation to run the marathon, at the final count you helped me to raised over £800, for the hospice campaign for which I and they are very grateful. The whole team raised a staggering £35,000!!!!!!
I didn't break any records but managed 3hrs 49mins (narrowly missing the 2hrs 5 mins set by the winner...) coming 8004th….! It was truly amazing and I marvelled at the enthusiasm of the crowd and how they kept up the constant cheering, whistling, hooting and shouts of encouragement, it really helped us all round. There were many spectacles and I will forever remember being overtaken at mile 16 by a stick-thin lady runner well into her 70's. If anyone has thought about doing it I would recommend it, just the once……….!
