This year we are taking part in the 2009 Sucata Run - a bargain basement banger rally tour where teams of up to 4 people drive to Europe's most westerly point.
This involves purchasing a car for no more than £250 and driving it to Portugal with many other like minded and wacky people. The car I purchased has almost 200,000 miles on the clock and is suffering an extensive water leak; so you can imagine this is going to be a pretty challenging event!
Our team name is 'The Dastardly Diplomats'. We will however be trying to stay one step ahead of Riggs and Murtaugh who are trying to revoke our diplomatic immunity :)
The tour runs from , the stunning capital of , to Cabo de Roca, Europe's most westerly in point in . On the way it passes through , the most attractive and unspoilt seaside town of , , the Spanish summer capital, and the beautiful 's original party city.
Sounds great, but its not just 4 guys on a road trip... our aim is to raise £1000 (or more if you all feel very generous) for charity... whilst having a bit of fun on the way! All donations will be going to gemin-i.org, a charity setup to help educate children across the world. They work to bridge cultural, religious and digital divides between desperate people around the world. The next project they are working on is to raise awareness and educate children about the fight against malaria.
