Welcome to David's, Dean's & Steve's just giving page. As most of you will know, all three of us work for Bradford Disability Sport & Leisure (B.D.S.L). Every other year, B.D.S.L cycle over to Hamm, which is our twin town in Germany.
Bit of Background:
B.D.S.L is a charity thats based in Shipley, however we target adults and childrens with learning difficulties in the Bradford Area. We provide sporting sessions for basketball, swimming, pool & table tennis, ten pin bowling, powerlfting, golf, football & athletics. Also we have acdemies on a Monday and Thursday night, where we offer after school sport sessions for Haycliffe, Chapel Grange & Thorn Park Special Schools. Also, we have just recently opened our new Bradford Disability Cycling Club, which is one of the first in the country that has its base in a "green flag" city park. We also have a partnership with the NHS, in delivering our PAD project, trying to get disabled people active and to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Bradford to Hamm Ride:
The ride is going to take place from the 9th of May 2010 to the 15th of May 2010. The ride is going to be around 410 miles, we will be setting off from Bradford to Hull, then we will be catching the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam. From Rotterdam we will be cycling to Hamm over a two day period. We will be in Hamm for two nights, then setting off back to catch the ferry on the 14th of May, and finally arriving back in Bradford on the 15th. In total, there are around 20 people cycling all raising money for BDSL.
