Welcome to Dave and Pete’s fundraising page.
Dave Raine and Pete Evans from Police Credit Union will be taking up the challenge to complete a demanding eight-day trek in South Africa to raise £10,000 for Children Today – helping transform the lives of disabled or ill children across the UK.
They have already smashed their original target of £5,000 and are now well on the way to raising £10,000.
Dave and Pete will be paying all their own costs personally, so every penny they raise by completing this Challenge will be going to help disabled children. Please help them raise as much as possible by making a donation today.
Changing lives for children today
Children Today provides grants for vital, life-changing equipment for children and young people with sickness or disability across the UK. The charity’s aim is to ensure that every disabled child and teenager fulfils their potential and leads an active life. Police Credit Union has chosen Children Today as its official charity and will be helping to raise funds and awareness over the next three years.
Our African Challenge
The PFA South Africa Challenge will be a real test of strength, endurance and stamina. From 5 June to 14 June 2009, Dave and Pete will be part of a team of six, led by an ex-professional footballer, on this Challenge of a lifetime.
They’ll be cycling through the Golden Gate National Park and then hiking and climbing in the Drakensburg Mountains. They’ll also be helping local children, who walk up to 20 km barefooted to school near Spionkop every day, by developing their basic facilities and taking part in a community exhibition football match with the professional footballing leaders.
If you’d like to follow their progress, they will be doing their best to update the website at www.policecu.co.uk with stories from the road.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
