Thank you very much for taking the time to visit our fund raising page. Please take a little time to consider the radically altered lives of all our troops who have been injured during operations overseas but in particular, Iraq and Afghanistan. Royal Marines have been on continuous duty in Iraq and Afghanistan since the start of the current troubles. Some have sustained horrendous life changing injuries and need our help to continue their recovery. Heroes like Mac, who recently lost both an arm and a leg in a mine strike and Bill, who lost a leg and must endure other complications sustained from several gunshot wounds during an assault on an enemy stronghold. We aim to complete the Big Battlefield Bike Ride (BBBR) at the end of May (26 May to 01 June) covering a distance of approximately 350 miles in 5 days through Northern France. The idea is to link our heroes from previous generations to the present ones as we visit and pay our respects to the fallen at various WW1 and WW2 battlefields, finishing at the Cenotaph, London on the 1 June 2008. The money that you donate will be used by the Help For Heroes Charity to help fund a new gymnasium and swimming pool complex at the Tri Service Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Help for heroes will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support, Simo and Dave For more information about this very worthy charity visit: www.helpforheroes.org.uk
