Story
On 11th June, I set out from Land's End, Cornwall to cycle the length of the UK, raising money for the National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS). Despite unfavourable winds and a number of hairy incidents on the road, I cycled into John o'Groats on the northern Scottish coast at midday on the 27th, after 17 days and 940 miles of sun, sweat and slogging. Ankylosing spondylitis is a form of arthritis where the joints and bones of the spine fuse together, causing back pain and limiting movement. It is not known what causes AS, and there is currently no known cure. NASS is the only registered charity in the UK targeting AS.With my original target of £500 well and truly smashed, and the £1000 mark well in reach, I'm now aiming to raise all the money I can from my journey and any donation, however small, will help. Thanks for your support, Dave -- Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
