Hi, I hope you like this picture of me proudly wearing my Medical Foundation T-Shirt in the Peak District last year before helping out the Edale Open Air Jazz Festival that raised funds for the Medical Foundation. In fact the run shall take place in London in May but I know a man who is a whiz with photoshop. The money will help the Medical Foundation to respond to victims of torture from all over the world with services that include casework and counselling, crisis intervention, welfare advice, psychotherapy, medical services, child and adolescent psychotherapy and physical therapies. Each year the Medical Foundation treats thousands of broken and extremely vulnerable people, who are in desperate need of help. Kabili is just one example: Kabili lived an ordinary life with his mother and father until the soldiers came. They dragged his father outside the house, strapped him into a chair and shot bullets into every part of his body while Kabili was made to watch. Then Kabili was forced to leave with them. He was injected with drugs to numb his feelings and forced to go on killing sprees with his abductors. When Kabili arrived alone in England, the world inside his mind was hell. He was overcome with guilt that he had not saved his father from the killers. But with the help he receives at the Medical Foundation, Kabili's tormented state is slowly transforming into a more confident outlook. Little by little, the Medical Foundation is helping relieve his terrible sense of guilt, which no innocent child should have to bear alone.
