My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

It has been an ambition of mine for a few years now to run in the London Marathon. Finally, the time has come to realise that ambition!

I am hoping the daily 6 mile hike along the pavements and driveways whilst delivering the mail in Prestwood and Little Kingshill (plus the afternoon training sessions!) will help me reach the fitness level I need to get me round the 26 mile marathon course.

I have decided to run for a local charity; The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund. All the money I am able to raise will go towards giving some sick children and their families a little relief from their suffering.

It would be greatly appreciated by myself and even more so by the kids if you could sponsor me to help me reach my target.

You can read all about the charity by visiting the website; www.thomasball.org.uk

With the help of my old legs and your generosity a smile could be put on some childrens' faces who are not as fortunate as us.

Thank you very much to everyone who sponsors me.

Dave.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

The Thomas Ball Children's Cancer Fund

Charity Registration No. 1078140

The object of the charity is to relieve sickness and distress among children suffering from cancer and their families. The trustees do this in any way that will be beneficial to the sick child & family. This is usually in the form of free holidays taken in one of the charity's properties on the coast in Hampshire. It also provides play/medical equipment for hospitals/individuals, organises special treats, raises awareness of childhood cancer & donates funds for UK neuroblastoma research
