We work in Africa to transform the lives of street children.
Story
Hi Folks
Well, I did it. It was the toughest thing I've ever done! It was made tougher because I went down with the flu 2 days after arriving in Ethiopia.
Thanks to all who sponsored me. I've been overwhelmed by people's generosity. The group of 16 trekkers has surpassed our target of £45,000 and it looks like we may even reach £60,000!
The Simien Mountains are incredibly beautiful. We saw lots of baboons, monkeys and Ibex. We didn't see the illusive Simien Fox but saw loads of interesting birds.
Temperatures were extreme - as low as -10 at night and as high as +30 during the day.
The team all got on really well and were a great encouragement to each other.
The highlight for everyone was a visit to RETRAK's project with street children in Addis Ababa. It was great to see exactly how the money raised will be used to benefit some of the neediest children on earth.
Thanks once again for your support. I'll let you know the final fundraising total soon.
Retrak enables street children to have a real alternative to life on the street. Working in Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya and more we provide healthcare, refuge and education so street children can realise their potential and discover their worth.
