Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Capital Charities - 21st Century Kids - North West will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

As well as the New York marathon I am also taking part in the Great Manchester Run, the Blackpool half marathon, the Edinburgh marathon  the Robin Hood half marathon, and the Great North Run and I am looking for people to sponsor me just once for all these events.

I hope you will be able to support this worthwhile charity and give as generously as you can.

I will give updates of my progress after each event starting with the Great Manchester Run.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has already sponsered me and especially for your words of encouragement. I know that the charity's main aim is to raise as much money as possible but for myself, the thought of going to America and running the New York Marathon is a dream in the making.

It is now Wednesday 8th November and I am back in England. New York was amazing and something I will always look back on with great memories. The sight at the start of the marathon is still at the forefront of my mind as 38,000 other runners lined up side by side in a sea of colour.

The run took me 4hrs and 29seconds which is the quickest I have ever run and  to be honest, I could not physically have gone a second faster.

You can look at some pictures by visiting www.ingnymarathonphotos.org , then press 2006 results. My bib number is 28360 and surname Rannard.

Once the feeling has returned to my legs I will start training again ready for a new challenge and with luck that could be the London marathon, but until then Thank You for the support and donations that have helped me to fulfill one of my lifes ambitions

 Thank you for your support.
