Early this year my beautiful cousin Eve Beswick was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at its worst stage, a stage 4 cancer.

Neuroblastoma is a tumour arising from particular nerve cells, which run in a chain-like fashion up the back of the child's abdomen and chest and into the skull following the line of the spinal cord (neuro = nerve, blastoma = collection of tumour cells). The tumour occurs either in the sympathetic nervous system or closely associated adrenal glands and is usually, although not always, located in the abdomen.

Because the symptoms of the disease tend to be varied and vague, some two-thirds of children are not diagnosed until the disease is widespread. It is a tumour almost exclusively of childhood and there is no exactly comparable tumour in an adult.

It has its own specialist treatment that is different from any treatment undergone by anyone else you know who has had cancer. Despite intensive courses of chemotherapy and often intial success in treating the disease, the child often relapses, making this one of the most lethal of all childhood cancers.

Eve is currently undergoing treatment in warrington and is still as cheeky as ever.

For those of you that dont no I am current WTKA British champion and a member of the WTKA Great Britain team.
On the 5th nov 2009 we are travelling to Italy to fight in the 2009 Worlld champonships where the worlds best fighters will compete in 4 days of fights to become the best in their weight and style catergories.

I have chosen to fight for The Neuroblastoma society and hoping to raise as much money for this vital cause against the fight of this rare and aggressive cancer. please give what ever you can every penny will make a difference.

This is also a massive step for myself as 5 yrs ago this month I was involved in a near fatal motorbike accident. I was left in a coma and dr's informing my family that my left leg would be amputated.
Luckily this was avoided. I shatered my right knee, dislocated my left leg, which had 6 external pins drilled into it it,i also snapped all my ligiments and tendons in this leg and had to have extensive skin grafting and muscle debribment below the knee. I received over 20 blood transfusions and was left with dr's telling me that i would struggle to walk again and to except this and move on.
Luckily i refused and am now fighting fit,,but still without any crutiate ligs in my left leg.
Before the accident i was only weeks away from representing GB in my first worlds in germany. This i why this is a double worth while event and cause.
