Story
Hello All,
Trust this finds you in fine form. Please excuse the bcc and do have a read :)
As some of you know, myself and some of the other boys have entered this years "Tough Mudder" event in Scotland. Its a grueling 11 mile course with some horrendous obstacles in our way; ranging from fields of fire, pits of stinging nettles, the Scottish, freezing rivers & electric shocks to name but a few (full brutal list below). Its known for being probably the worlds toughest race and preaches the mantra "marathons are for pussies". Indeed.
Just as worryingly we have a night out in Glasgow afterwards.
Anyway, who are Team F.I.S.T? Certainly not your conventional Tough Muddrs. We are a group of mates adept at getting smashed, talking about going to the gym/protein shakes and generally still living like we're 23. After a night on the tiles we thought we'd give something back. The last few months have been replaced with boot camp, lots of running, weight training and eating mung bean salads *yawn*. Given the fact we all like a drink, and bloody love a Nandos, this has been a monumental sarcrifice.
That said, its a sacrifice we hope will mean a) we're less likely to die and b) raise some dough for a very good cause.
The cause we've chosen is "Together for Short Lives" which is a hospice and support organisation that helps kids and families who sadly are not expected to reach adulthood. They really do fantastic work and its a real honor to be able to help in any way.
Your potential donation will help to ensure that all life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families, have the best quality care and support from the moment of diagnosis, for as long as they need it.
With that in mind, we come to you, cap in hand, to see if you would be good enough to make even a small donation? I know times are tough, and these emails are as frequent as Big Issue sellers in Covent Garden, but even a fiver (hopefully more) would be greatly received (a pint of Peroni for you Londoners, a weeks worth Gregs for you Northerners). This internet thing means you guys from outside the UK can donate easily too.
It will make the electrocutions, nettle stings, the Scottish, the claustrophobic under-water-pipes (my personal favorite) and the distinct possibility of getting beaten up in Glasgow, all worth it.
I thank you for reading.
Team F.I.S.T
