Following recent stories about the unequal distribution of aid in the areas affected by the tsunami, I hope you will consider supporting my sponsored cycle across Sri Lanka.

I am going in conjunction with the International Childcare Trust, which has been working with the poorest children in Sri Lanka, in particular those displaced by the tsunami. ICT is a small, dynamic humanitarian organisation. I'm looking forward to visiting Sri Lanka for the first time and seeing ICT's work in the field. It may seem a small gesture, but this trip (50 cyclists) also counts towards the regeneration of tourism in the country.

It's a tough course, and I'll be training through the summer. I'm committed to raising £2500. I'm prepared to go higher...

£10 will provide 2 children in transition with food for one month. £50 will provide a 6-month training course in a marketable skill for one young person. £100 will see a child through school for a year.
