My story
Too many mothers die in childbirth in Africa: many have to walk 33 miles to get to a health post to have their babies.
We did it! 33 miles. This includes Martin Garry, Monica Chawathe, Ann Jones, Steve Howard, David Francis, Madeleine Brindley from the Western Mail, Prof Gaynor Kavanagh Dean and relay team of Cardiff Met CSAD, staff from BAWSO, Jackie and Sian of Welsh Woman Walking plus friends, Maureen Fallon, Bill Thompson and Tei Sheraton of Mothers of Africa. Welsh Tennor Wynne Evans joined us for the finish. Wish us luck and please sponsor us!
We're raising funds for Mothers of Africa's Zambia Wales Health Collaboration, to help mothers survive pregnancy. Building classrooms in Africa, educating staff and children.
After all those miles, we had reception at the Senedd with marvellous African inspired artwork by Cardiff School of Art and Design.

The charity helps mothers to survive childbirth through educating healthcare workers in the poorest countries in Africa. It is based in the Department of Anaesthetics at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff.
