Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
If you're visiting to see whether I managed the ride, the answer is yes. We set out from Hackney at 8.30 on Saturday evening, and I pedalled into the beach car park at Dunwich at 6.30 the following morning, roughly 120 miles and many power bars later. I was hugely buoyed up by the thought that so many people had given such a lot to the cause. It so happened that it was also an extraordinary experience, riding through the night, with about 1,000 others, our back lights flashing away in pitch-black country lanes. If I work out how to transfer them, I'll load up the couple of photos I took on my phone of the beach on arrival (the water was perfect).
As this page will stay open for another three months, it's not too late to donate. I am raising money for a fantastic and not well-enough known charity, the Miscarriage Association, of which my wife happens to be a trustee. It is the only national charity that provides support and information to those affected by the loss of babies in pregnancy -- a trauma far too many of us have been through.
There is no entry fee for the ride, so rest assured every penny will go to the charity. Thank you very much for your donation.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Miscarriage Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! (You know, if you'd like to. You don't have to. It's up to you.)
